Jog Dial System
Adjustments are made in conventional formers by the clutch jogging system, which uses manual buttons. By installing a servo motor and using the jog dial system, a former (ram) can be moved forward, backward, or stopped by using a manual dial. Using this system, tooling adjustments can be easily made (after changing stations) and damage to tooling can be avoided. In addition, being able to move the ram backwards is quite useful, as the chuck’s open/close timing, etc. can be fine-tuned.
